Star Design Lighting employs only highly trained technicians and designers in the industry with experience ranging from theater, concerts, and corporate to the largest touring productions. Our crew has an extensive background in all areas of lighting production such as automated and conventional lighting design and programming, electrics, rigging, and system and fixture maintenance.

Dave started with Star Design Lighting 4 years ago as a Production Specialist and has quickly proven himself as a technician, programmer and now as a manager. Jamie earned her first paycheck with Star Design Lighting as a highschooler helping load out shows, cleaning equipment and running follow spot. After high school, she left the company to attend the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her B.S. in Psychology and subsequently her MBA. In 2014, Jamie came back on part time as Business Manager.
Barry came to Star Design Lighting with an extensive background in sound and lighting. A graduate of Full Sail University, he has worked in every capacity of the industry from stagehand to shop tech to a sound and lighting specialist. Barry’s keen technical knowhow paired with his consistently pleasant personality has made him an invaluable member of the Star Design Lighting family.
Rick has been a part of the Star Design family for over three years. His extensive experience with our clients and inventory makes him our go-to guy on event set ups and deliveries.

In this fast pace world of internet technology and social media an individual’s business concept along with a small amount of venture capital can launch a very established and professional looking company virtually overnight. With that being said, I am proud to say that Star Design Lighting is a brick and mortar company that has been built one piece at a time since 1990.
I consider Star Design Lighting to be a relatively self-contained company in the fact that we own and maintain the majority of the equipment that we use so that we have confidence in its functionality, we own our own fleet of trucks so that we can streamline transportation concerns and we keep a staff of fulltime and part time employees so that we can staff events with technicians that are skilled in the Star Design Lighting way of operations to assure a good value to our clients.
My philosophy for Star Design Lighting is very simple: Treat every event as if it is the most important event that you will ever do.
